So I talked to the homie Jimson and apparently, the Claremont College show was by the far the craziest. I guess I can’t be surprised considering that it was a private show for the students that took place LITERALLY within a student housing complex. i wonder if there was any Girls Gone Wild activity going on…hmm…
Anyways, here’s a shitload of pictures from the Mighty 4.
Meet booth and the crew…
Showcasing some SP gear, here’s OG b-boy, Crazy Legs, from the Bronx’s legendary Rock Steady Crew…and perhaps the most expert turntablist to have ever walked this Earth, San Francisco’s own DJ Q-bert (who was also once a part of the Rock Steady Crew)…
Check out the other vendors that were in attendance. A lot of clothing brands…
Now for some of the action that took place…here’s the poplocking section…
The 1 on 1 b-girl battle over at the main stage…
A little free for all after the b-girl battle…nothing crazy tho. All the top and down rockin’ was a bit redundant…
I think this was one of the main battles. I walked in late, so I didn’t have a great view, but here’s a few shots of the scenery…
Now THIS was my favorite part of the day…and it wasn’t even a scheduled event. They laid out some linoleum smack in the middle of all the vendors and gradually the circle kept growing and growing. I especially enjoyed the old timers, who were REALLY poppin’ and lockin’. That shit was great.
They brought the camera out and the power moves soon followed. I didn’t get too many great shots of them tho.
This circle must have gone on for at least a good 3 hours. And oh yea, Kool Raul of Supreme Soul (America’s Best Dance Crew Season 2) was guest Dj’ing during all of this…
So there you have it. Mighty 4 was a great experience for us and we hope to join them again in the future. I THINK they’re headed to Denver next. Look em up!
Peace, “BK”
