Day 13…finally taking some time out to post a fresh one…

As you may or may not know, I haven’t been home in nearly 4 years and it’s been a joy to catch up with friends and family that stay out here, especially my folks. There’s been a shitload of eating and drinking over the past 2 weeks…and it all comes to an end this Sunday. Originally, this was supposed to be a month long trip, but I need to get back to work, ya feel me??

Ah, that feeling of separation…separation anxiety, they call it? Well, nowhere near THAT serious, but you get my point. No matter how many times you’ve experienced it throughout your life…no matter how much you prepare and prepare yourself for it every time…it just never changes. That is the life of military families. If you’re a “brat”, you know exactly what the fuck I’m talking about…especially you “overseas brats”.

Anyways, I guess things here haven’t changed much since the last time I visited, except that the city is much cleaner. The Korean government has had an increasing focus on maintenance and appearance, while growing into a major international attraction. Considering that South Korea has only been around for about half a century as an independent nation (since the Korean War), it has developed at an exponential rate into an economical powerhouse. Respect.

So I’m headed back to the motherland this week…”The Land of the Morning Calm”…Korea, that is….SEOUL, Korea, to be exact….and that’s SOUTH Korea, for all you ignorant mutha fuckers still asking, “North or South?” Although I’ve been planning the trip for a while, I almost postponed it, since things around here have been pretty hectic lately. It was a last minute and I decided to cut the original month-long get-away down to 2 weeks, so I can get the fuck back to work…responsible, right? Right.

It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve been home, seen some friends, family, etc…shit, I’ve barely seen my folks in that time. That’s the life of a military brat…separation is nothing new to us…

Anyways, I got a lot on my plate, so I’ll be back real soon. Sure thing for one, we’ll be launching an online summer sale when I get back, so keep it locked for the announcement!! More SPTV to come, as well. Maybe I’ll show y’all a little something about the motherland…

I spotted this on 57thAve.com today…I didn’t even know they had such a thing…and held in Korea? Well, I’ll tell you one thing…I spent a lot of my childhood along that river and if there’s anything that us “Riversiders” will all agree on, it’s how FILTHY that river is! So here’s a video that, from what I can gather, seems to be getting a lot mixed reviews. People are talking about the funny voice, the weird content, freakish video, bla bla bla. To me, this is Em being Em…and Em is a true artist. Lyrically, he’s on point as always…his wit, diction, rhyme patterns, etc. I heard the song before the video dropped, and this video was exactly what played in my head as I listened to it. To be able to paint a picture so vividly with words?  Now THAT, is a gifted artist. I co-sign this project all day…

Officer Rawse’s new video…shot in Medellin, home of Pablo Escobar. Man, he wasn’t lyin’ in that interview…all the chicks in this vid are a dime AND some! I gotta keep it real tho, this dude’s been KILLIN’ the music video game from day 1…since “Everday I’m Hustlin”. This one already makes 4 off the new album and they’re ALL dope. It’s BAWSSSE, you mungkeez!

So I was gonna keep the list at 5, but I HAD to give my man Killa some shine. Now, I used to bang Dipset when it was crackin’ (during the Immunity era), but ever since their fallout, Juelz been on some other shit with his skulls and what not, and Jim’s just been a clown…I can’t even take him seriously anymore. Good to see Cam tho. He disappeared for a hot one, but he’s been back promoting his new album and dropped a handful of music videos. Here he is with some classic Cam on this joint…

The damn swine flu, or actually, the media I should say, has everybody buggin…talkin bout social distancing and shit. Man, get the fuck outta here. Bottom line, it’s a damn flu. Unless you’re old as hell, young as hell, or already sick as hell, it’s not going to kill you. It’s just as dangerous as any other flu out there. I mean, yes, you should definitely take extended precautions, but it doesn’t mean you have lock yourself in the house.

With that being said, that Sneaker Pimps crowd was weak. For a line up of that caliber, that club should’ve easily been packed…especially with all the vendors and displays taking up space. I had a cool time, nonetheless. I’m just a little bitter about the attendance, cuz at the end of the day, I was there to make some damn money. (I was selling my Mac -N- Teez brand, btw)
