Sorry folks…I know I’ve been MIA, but it’s all for good reason…
I was actually on the road with Onyx (minus Sonsee) and Optimus for a few days to kick off their Black Rock Tour…yes, THAT Onyx. Can you believe that? Shit, I still can’t… I’ve been listenin’ to these guys since I was like fuckin 10! And if you know Onyx, you can imagine what their music can do to a pre-adolescent kid. Anyways, it’s a trip to kick it with some dudes that you’ve been listening to and watching on the screen for more than half your life…
If you’ve been tuned into my blog for a minute, you know that Optimus has been working with Onyx on The Black Rock album. That’s how I connected with them and got the invite to Sticky’s movie premiere for “A Day In The Life” the other week. To make a long story short, I had printed up some custom Onyx tees as a gift last week, went to go drop em at Sticky’s, and ended up volunteering to take to take them to their first two shows (in San Diego and Bakersfield), cuz they were last minute and so they didn’t have their transportation situated.
That’s how it all happened… So keep it locked right here and expect to see a lot of Onyx in the upcoming episodes of SPTV, including an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their latest music video shoot, which we shot in the Mojave fuckin’ desert (near the city of Mojave, to be exact). I hope I never have a reason to go back to that mutha fucker…cuz that place is definitely one of the biggest ass cracks of California. And Bakersfield is NOT that far behind.
