Yea yea…I know I’m real late on this post, but you know I’ve had my hands full and I wouldn’t have felt right ignoring it for good. It dropped on “Slaugust” 11th and I still haven’t had the chance to go out and cop it yet. I did hear some of it tho, and so far, so good. I don’t outright expect a “classic”, but my hopes are pretty high. Despite all the fuckery surrounding Joe Buddens (what else is new?), the album’s gotta be worth a good listen from a hip hop stand point.

Joey is just one of those I can’t ever really seem to “like”, although I’ve always credited him as a great rapper. And he definitely has grown on me, since the jump off of Joe Budden TV and the creation of Slaughterhouse. I don’t know what it is, but lately, he’s become more of a clown in my eyes…not to say that he’s fully in the wrong with the whole Wu situation. At the end of the day, you can’t blame him for who and how he is, but his mouth + his attitude doesn’t exactly make for the most likable concoction.

Whatever…let’s keep it hip hop.

So here’s a video of Black Milk performing “Losing Out” (which originally features fellow Detroitan(?), Royce Da 5’9) at the A/C Supper Club in Venice this past Friday. His drummer goes wild!

After the song, he brought out West Coast veteran, Ras Kass to drop a couple gems of his own. I had no idea he was in the building, and it was wild (for me) cuz I had been jammin’ to the ORIGINAL “Soul On Ice” CD in my truck all week! We chopped it up and he didn’t believe me at first, but I caught him as I was ridin’ out and bumped it for em. “I am humbled,” he told me, as he shoved his groupie away and took a bow. Haha.

Optimus footage (from Venice) coming soon!

Peace, “BK”
