This year’s NBA All Star Weekend went down in the Cowboy Stadium in Dallas. That’s right, Cowboy Stadium. A world record attendance was set for a basketball game, at just over 108,000. It was quite a site to see, especially with the 2 jumbo-trons, which were far bigger than the court itself.
As for the all the festivities that took place, it wasn’t as entertaining as I thought it would be, mainly due to the GARBAGE ASS dunk contest. Them 4 should receive a 10 game suspension and $25,000 fine for that bullshit. For one, nobody wants to even see Nate’s little ass no more (who won for the 3rd time). Gerald Wallace wasn’t even trying! Shannon and DeRozan simply brought some weak ass shit.
I’m sure anybody who watched it was thoroughly dissappointed. There was absolutely no cheering in the crowd and nothing but shit talking from the commentators. FUCK all 4 of the contestants…that’s how mad I am. The amateurs did a MUCH better job the night before at the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown. And 1′s “Air Up There”, who’s famous for the 720 dunk, claimed the trophy. Peep the coverage:
The Celebrity Game and Rookie Challenges were cool. The rooks actually won for the first time in 10 years. Nash took the Skills Challenge, Pierce took the 3-Point Contest, and the East edged out the West, 141-139 in the main event, where Wade took the MVP award. The first half was kinda boring, but they came through in the second half and put on a solid show. Check out the highlights:
Peace, “BK”
